Say it ain't so....

Today many of Washingtonians mourn the departure of a Capitol Hill landmark - Capitol Lounge. The happy hour favorite suffered serious damages due to a fire in the early morning hours.

A hazy layer of smoke covered the corner of 3rd and Pennsylvania, while many Capitol Hill folks pondered where would they go now?

The Lounge's manager, Simon, speculated the fire could have been started by the donut fryer. No reports of injuries.

UPDATE: New reports state the fire may have been caused by a cigarette dropped into a garbage can and left overnight. The left side of the bar is totally destroyed. The Right side has sustained pretty bad smoke damage. Yet the Cap Lounge will live again -- The owner had good insurance (yeah for planning ahead) and plan to re-open within two to three months.

tear, tear... so many good times at Cap Lounge.... we will miss you friend...
